On Friday, Aug. 11, Nassau County Police announced that Michael Deangelo, age 32, was arrested in connection to a Massapequa car crash that killed three members of the same family.
Deangelo, who is from Lindenhurst, was reportedly driving under the influence of cocaine and fentanyl on Sunday, Aug. 6 on Sunrise Highway when he hit three other cars at approximately 7:20 p.m.
One second prior to the impact, he was traveling 120.55 miles per hour.

The crash killed Patrice Huntley, age 60, and two of his children, 11-year-old Jeremiah and 12-year-old Hannah.
The Huntleys were on their way to get ice cream, celebrating Patrice’s recent job promotion, when the crash occurred.
Five additional people had been taken to local hospitals after the wreck. Of them, two were listed in critical unstable condition, two were in stable condition, and one was treated and released.
A GoFundMe started by Tasheba Hamilton, the children’s mother, confirmed that the two people listed in critical condition were Patrice’s 18-year-old stepdaughter Brienna and his 5-year-old stepgranddaughter Chantel.

According to NCPD's Detective Captain Stephen Fitzpatrick, Deangelo has two prior DWI arrests, making this third one a felony.
Deangelo is charged with:
- Aggravated vehicular homicide, three counts;
- Second-degree manslaughter, three counts;
- DWI, two counts;
- Reckless driving; and
- Assault, six counts in the second degree, and two counts in the third degree.
He is scheduled to have a bedside arraignment at a local hospital, where he is in stable condition on Friday, Aug. 11.
